I return to China every year for my medical checkups because the process is convenient, efficient, and affordable, especially when choosing a professional health screening center. First, efficiency is remarkable. A comprehensive medical examination can usually be completed within just a few hours. Second, the experience is truly one-stop. At many health screening centers in China, patients can complete bloodwork, imaging tests such as CT or MRI scans, ultrasounds, and specialist consultations all in one location, without needing to travel between multiple offices or facilities. Third, the cost is dramatically lower compared to the United States. Even advanced imaging and preventive screenings are often available at a fraction of the price charged in the U.S. Most importantly, early detection leads to earlier treatment. Chinese hospitals and medical centers are often able to diagnose and follow up on abnormal findings very quickly, which can make a critical difference in health outcomes. For me, these annual checkups provide not only peace of mind but also a proactive way to protect my long-term health.

My trip to Beijing and Qinhuangdao exceeded all expectations. In Beijing, the Forbidden City was impressive — rich in history and culture. The Temple of Heaven was beautiful. The museums were absolute treats. I could have spent days in them. We also took a short train to Qinhuangdao. Hiking a less-crowded section of the Great Wall near the sea was unforgettable. The night market there was incredible, and the food throughout the trip was excellent. What really surprised me was how smooth everything was. Our local guides were genuinely helpful and friendly. Transport between cities was easy, and getting the tourist visa took less time than I expected. If you’re hesitating because language or logistics, don’t. China felt welcoming, efficient, and full of wonders. I’m already eager to go back!
Safety has never been an issue
I lived in multiple cities in China for about six years. I enjoyed my stay to the fullest. During my stay I met so many wonderful people, ate delicious food and made many beautiful memories! The safety has NEVER been an issue during my entire stay. I am looking for another opportunity to travel to China.

Traveling to China is one of the most impactful experiences in my life. I've been to other countries before but have never been to one that's so welcoming and willing to share their culture with those who are visiting.
$200 well spent
I am deeply grateful that I decided to get a lung scan while visiting China two years ago. In the United States, I was considered low-risk because I was not a smoker, so I was not eligible for a lung scan during a routine wellness visit. While in China, however, I chose to pay out of pocket for a CT lung scan, which cost only about $200. That scan revealed a large lung nodule. I brought the results back to the U.S., and my doctors immediately took the findings seriously and ordered additional testing. After further examinations, I underwent surgery, and the pathology report confirmed that it was lung cancer. Because the cancer was detected early enough for treatment, that $200 scan truly saved my life. I share my story to encourage others to listen to their instincts, advocate for their health, and pursue preventive screening when something does not feel right.
